Privacy Policy

Your documents belong to you. This page explains, in plain language, what Validor collects, where it lives, and how you stay in control.
What we collect
- Account info: your email address, and optionally your name, time zone, whether you use Validor personally or for a company, and reminder preferences.
- Your documents: the names, expiry dates, people, notes, photos and details you add — everything you type into Validor.
- Subscription status: whether you have Premium, and which plan — never your card details.
Where your data lives
Your documents are stored with your private Validor account in our database, and only your account can read or change them. Validor also keeps an offline copy on your device so the app works without a connection; your documents never leave your account.
Payments
Premium payments are handled by Dodo Payments, our payment provider. Your card details go straight to them and are never seen or stored by Validor. We only receive confirmation that your subscription is active.
Emails and notifications
Expiry reminders come from "Validor" <reminders@validor.net> and account emails, such as sign-in and password links, come from "Validor" <accounts@validor.net>. These are service messages — not marketing — and every reminder email tells you how to stop them.
Browser notifications, if you turn them on, appear only while Validor is open in your browser and are generated on your device.
Cookies and local storage
Validor uses browser local storage and session cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences (like dark mode). When we run adverts, a Google Ads measurement cookie records whether a visit from an advert led to a sign-up and helps Google improve who sees our adverts; that data goes to Google Ads (Google Ireland Limited) and never includes your documents or expiry dates. In the UK, the EEA and Switzerland it only runs if you accept the cookie notice, and you can withdraw or change that choice at any time from the Cookie Policy page. We don't sell your data — to anyone, ever. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.
Children and family documents
Validor accounts are for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly create accounts for children.
Parents, guardians and schools often track documents that belong to a child — a child's passport, student visa or vaccination record. That is fine: you are adding that information as the responsible adult, you confirm you have the authority to do so, and it stays inside your private account. Please add only what you need — a name and an expiry date are usually enough.
If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it and its data.
Your control
You can export all of your data from Settings at any time, and you can delete your account — permanently and immediately — from Settings → Delete account. Deleting your account removes your profile and every document you've added.
You can also ask us to send you a copy of your data, correct it, or erase it. Email hello@validor.net from your account address and we will act within 30 days.
Every expiry reminder email has a link that takes you straight to your reminder settings, where one switch turns all reminder emails off.
